Head Above Water
After returning to the UK from a backpacking trip around Europe in November 2002, I soon decided to commit to Music and upgraded my simple home studio set-up from a 4-track cassette portastudio to a 16-track digital portastudio. I then set about starting to record songs which would make up an EP - my first release to the world.
I chose the name Seven Worlds as it had never been my intention to be a solo singer/songwriter and I felt a more ambiguous name would keep the focus on the music itself.
It took a year to record and during that time various events happened such as receiving airplay for "Come and Go" on Manx Radio UK, being approached by a Dutch artist manager and a Bosnian Eurovision popstar interested in recording some of my songs for an album of his. None of these incidents amounted to anything, the EP was finally released in December 2003 and I continued on my own path towards the One Way Ticket album.
