Through The City EP - Distribution Update

11/17/2025

The 'Through The City' release is now available everywhere it should be. It took longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances I went into in this post Through The City EP - Distribution.

When it did finally go through, the first thing I noticed was Apple Music had omitted the second track, "Burn The Bridges", from the release. This has never happened before and it's quite a major oversight to publish an EP with one track missing. We're not talking about a spelling error or the wrong release date. I immediately contacted CD Baby about it and it's now been rectified.

Next I happened to notice on my 7Digital page that these 'fake imposter' David William's are once again on my page. The same ones I had to contact Apple Music about a few years back. Since I rarely have reason to visit my 7Digital page, I didn't realise they were there. One may be a genuine mistake, because he appears to be a real artist and does classical music, but the other looks like an AI artist by the look of the artwork. When I contacted 7Digital this was their reply:

Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the frustration.

At the moment, we don't have a specific feature for musician profiles. Our system automatically compiles pages based on albums, so artists with similar names can end up on the same page. While we currently don't have a manual adjustment for these issues, our team is looking into possible solutions.

We understand the importance of individuality for artists and apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Thank you for your understanding.

That's a pretty nonchalant, couldn't-care-less attitude about something that is pretty important. Would they take the same attitude if a few major established industry artists were mixed up on the same page? You could be sure they'd have that fixed as soon as it was pointed out. It's the same old disregard for indie artists that has been going on throughout this era of supposed freedom for all artists.

Each time we sidestep them and push on through regardless of their games, the industry gatekeepers reveal how unreasonable they are and how this has nothing to do with the quality of the Music but everything to do with stubbornness and jealousy because they know they are not necessary. They want to be involved somehow but all the games they've played with countless artists before me are now catching up with them in these times because nobody trusts them anymore. We're tired of their bullshit and people just want a simple, straightforward, direct connection between themselves and the artist.

To give another example of how petty they are, at the weekend we put up the new CD page on the website, explaining the DIY approach we're taking. I woke up today with a feeling there had been an 'attack' of some kind. Sure enough, a playlist curator had rejected a recent submission of "Burn The Bridges". Fair enough. But 99% of the time they don't even reply. This guy felt the need to tell me the song "really wasn't his cup of tea" then went on to patronisingly tell me to keep doing what I love anyway. These guys think they are some kind of gatekeepers or arbiters of what others should hear and the fact he responded at all clearly shows I'm hitting the mark and the song must have disturbed something in him. Because that's the thing with these guys... all through the years they have been the same, they have to say something. They are so threatened by what I do that they can't just ignore it and move on, they have to try to assert and impose themselves in some way, so insecure they actually are. Not only with Music, but with relationships, money, everything... they try to insert themselves between you and the other thing. They will fail.

All of this is about trying to frustrate and distract you so you spend more time fighting them and generating bad vibes rather than creating because they can't create. They've turned away from the Source. I only write about this stuff in my breaks, I would never waste my time on it otherwise. I have better things to be doing.
